Heating Assistance Program

Vitus Terminals now proudly offers Heating Assistance through the State of Alaska in Kotzebue. Heating Assistance helps households pay a portion of home heating expenses for qualifying individuals. Applications for Heating Assistance are accepted October 1st through August 31st. If you are legally disabled or age 60 or older, the State will accept your application as early as September. The program begins issuing grants on the first working day in November. 

You can check to see if the State received your application or find out your grant amount by calling the State’s 24-hour information hotline: 1-888-804-6330.

How to sign up: 

  1. Download and print the PDF version of the application or pick one up at our Kotzebue location at 175 3rd Avenue.

  2. Make sure your home heating fuel provider is listed as “Vitus Terminals” on the application.

  3. Send the completed application to the following address:
